Movies

Speaking of favourite movies, just as any normal person, it's almost impossible to choose one among the whole lot.

Off the top of my head, the movie that set me thinking and kept me watching was Alfonso Cuaron's dramatic science thriller, Gravity. Even though it's an immensely overrated movie, the fact that it's about the astronauts who sacrifice their own lives to improve ours is moving. This spectacular movie, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney takes us on a short trip to outer space and lets us watch closely the unfortunate mishaps they deal with. I personally think it's a to-be-watched-in-theatres kind of movie and what I liked best about it is the climactic scene where Sandra Bullock crawls out of the water and stands up on her feet symbolizing the evolution of mankind.

Moving on to my all-time favourite, I would choose the Bollywood movie, Taare Zameen Par (Like Stars on Earth) directed by Amir khan. This movie revolves around an eight-year-old boy Ishaan Awasthi, who suffers from dyslexia and Attention Deficit disorder. When his parents fail to understand him, his art teacher helps him overcome his disability by simply encouraging the boy in his own area of interest and expertise. The movie is highly emotional after a point so i strongly suggest tissues, it might come in handy! This movie also include one of my all-time favourite songs - Meri Maa (Do listen! It's lovely!). I watched this movie in a theatre with family. Watching a movie in a theatre is also considered one of the many celebrations in India.

  2. I am really interested in "Like Stars on Earth" and I think this is a movie we could watch with our family!
And the trailer of Gravity is a little bit strange (because you have no idea what they keep floating) if you don't put your sound on.
